On July 2, a conference dedicated to the centenary of the Communist Party of China was held in the Round Hall of the National Academy of Sciences of the RA. The international conference was organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA and the "China-Eurasia" Council for Political and Strategic Research.
The President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan had sent his greeting speech to the conference. Welcoming remarks were made by the following attendees of the conference: The President of the NAS RA, Academician of the NAS RA Ashot Saghyan, Academician-Secretary of Division of Armenology and Social Sciences of the NAS RA Yuri Suvaryan, Acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of PRC to the Republic of Armenia Mr. Yong Fan.
Opening speeches were also made by the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA Dr. Robert Ghazaryan and the Director of the "China-Eurasia" Council for Political and Strategic Research Dr. Mher Sahakyan. The Secretary-General of the SCO China Committee, Zhang Wei also greeted the participants of the conference online. The event was also attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the United Arab Emirates in Armenia Ahlam Rashid Al-Salami, the First Secretary of the French Embassy in Armenia Eric Debenat and others.
Specialists from Armenia, China, Russia, Georgia and the United Arab Emirates presented their reports at the conference.
The international conference "Rethinking China’s Rise under the Government of CPC: Achievements, Initiatives and Prospects" was another joint scientific event of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA and the "China-Eurasia" Council for Political and Strategic Research, which will contribute to the development of Chinese studies in Armenia.
